Already strongly engaged during the cyclones which struck Haiti in 2004 and in 2008, the boy scouts of Haiti set up an action plan over 5 years some weeks after the earthquake " to engage the youth in the reconstruction and the development of the country ". Consisted of 45 000 members, the National Association of the Boy scouts of Haiti is the most important youth organization of the country today.
